Rottnest Island - WA’s most beautiful island - is 19 kilometres off Perth’s coastline. Take advantage of the hop on hop off bus service to explore the island and experience pristine beaches, rugged coastlines and natural wildlife.
The Island Explorer is NOT a tour, the bus driver does not provide commentary.

A cheaper and faster alternative to cycling, the Island Explorer is a flexible way to explore the island. Hop on and off at any location throughout the day. As a hop-on, hop-off service a seat is not always guaranteed and you may need to stand.
Tickets can be bought directlyfrom our team at the ticket booth on the island, subject to availability, and over the phone from our reservations team on 08 6270 6060, Option 1 for Reservations.

The Island Explorer is NOT a tour, the bus driver does not provide commentary.
During peak periods, the bus might be full and you may have to wait for the next bus.
Please note prams, beach trolleys and fishing rods must all be folded to travel on the bus. We do not allow any bicycles, bike trailers (including ones used to push children) or any bulky items that do not fold on to the bus.

The Island Explorer accepts the Companion Card. Cardholders present their card when booking or purchasing a ticket and we will recognise the Companion Card and issue the cardholder with a second ticket for their companion at no charge.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat, camera, and sunscreen. This service departs from Rottnest Island and ferry transport is not included in the itinerary.
Quokka Coaches bus service is categorised as an Essential Service and thus except from physical distancing protocol although Quokka Coaches may limit the Island Explorer to seated capacity only at any time and at our own discretion.
